I love to shoot with all sorts of simple cameras such as the Holga, Diana, Polaroid or even iPhone cameras. The accidents and light leaks these cameras produce add to the intimate moodyness in my photographs. I photograph on location and in my Harlem based studio, in the amazing city of New York. Bio
Evi Abeler received a MFA in Studio Art from The City College of New York in 2006. Her photographs have been exhibited at the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Henry Street Settlement in New York City and at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida among others. She has been invited to residencies at Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida, Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY, and Steinkimmen, Germany. She has photographed for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Rubin Museum, The Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center and The City University of New York.
