Perfect Props And Stylish Backdrops — Product Photography Workshop At West Elm

Friday, September 23 | 6:00PM – 9:00PM
Location: United Photo Industries Gallery

Geared toward crafters, makers, and small business owners, this workshop will offer tips and tools to simply style, light and photograph your products and make them look amazing! Shooting on location at the newly opened West Elm location in DUMBO, students will have the opportunity to stage small scenes and shoot lovely products of their own or those on display at the store, while guided by Big Leo photographer Evi Abeler and prop stylist Robin Zachary. Participants should bring a camera and our instructors will guide you through the process of creating interesting and unique photos that you can use in your online store or in your marketing materials.

This is a BYOC (bring-your-own-camera) workshop that will meet for a brief intro and slideshow presentation by the instructor at the United Photo Industries Gallery before heading out for a guided shoot. The workshop also includes an (optional) wrap-up session and casual group critique, where students can share the work they shot and get feedback from instructors and workshop peers.

Make What You Make Look Great: An Introduction to Product Photography

Location: Brooklyn Bridge Park Classroom
Date: Sunday, September 20th
Time: 2:00PM-4:00PM

Geared toward crafters, makers, and small business owners, this workshop offer some tips and tools to simply style, light and photograph your product and make it look amazing! Participants should bring a camera (a cell phone camera is fine!) and a small piece to shoot, and our instructors will guide you through the process of creating interesting and unique photos that you can use in your online store or in your marketing materials.

The workshop will be led by a product photographer and a product stylist who will provide a few basic ‘place settings’ that students can use to arrange their work with guidance from the instructors on how (and why) to use certain color schemes, when and where to introduce different textures and how to use mostly natural lighting to bring out the beauty of your homemade and hand-crafted wares.

Photography Training for Culinary Ventures

By now you probably know that I specialize in food photography. But—did you know that I also offer photography training for culinary ventures?

Most of my consulting clients struggle with their in-house photography. They often need to consistently produce high quality images for their online store and don't know how to get there. Recently—with visual marketing being the latest buzz—many want to be better iPhone photographers to stand out on Instagram and Pinterest.

If you need to get your photography in shape, let's chat!

Best Wishes,
Evi
