This collaboration with Paige Hicks is a playful tribute to our favorite beauty products. We shot in 20 Grand, Paige’s Brooklyn studio and incorporated natural elements and fresh flowers in our flat-lays and product line-ups. Shot by Evi Abeler, New York based Cosmetics and Editorial Photographer.
For Wine Enthusiast’s May issue, I shot a series of global dishes that paired flatbread recipes with the perfect wines. We captured wine pairings for Mediterranean lahmacun, Georgian khachapuri, and Alsatian flàmmeküeche, all crafted from the same basic dough. Shot by Evi Abeler, New York based Food and Editorial Photographer.
Wine Spectator’s June 2018 issue showcased the brilliant colors and booming success of everyone’s new favorite wine, rosé. For this cover shoot, I captured rosé in all its shades alongside fresh salads and buttery pastries.
For Culture Magazine’s annual pairings issue, I worked with the magazine’s editor and outside design firm Red Herring to capture different cheese pairings, including jam, wine, honey—and, yes, donuts! Shot by Evi Abeler, New York based Food and Editorial Photographer.
How do you make a wedge of cheese look interesting? It’s all about design and propping—and about working with an experienced cheesemonger who knows how to bring out each cheese’s visual best. I collaborated with the design team at Culture magazine and their comic book-like vision for their Best Cheeses of the Year issue. Shot by Evi Abeler, New York based Food and Editorial Photographer.
Culture Magazine stepped away from cheese—their usual subject—to spotlight the new trend in specialty yogurts, from Icelandic to Greek to French. I gave a pop-art look to the images using simple backgrounds and sharp shadows. Shot by Evi Abeler, New York based Editorial Photographer.
For this collaboration with Every Day with Rachael Ray, we shot a series of full-page images for the magazine’s “On Our Radar” section featuring different types of holiday decor for cookies, cakes, and chocolates.
I worked with the team from Wine Spectator and chef Victor Flores on the cover and feature package for the magazine’s tequila issue. The photos feature lots of bold color, stylized propping, strong light and deep shadows to evoke a lavish holiday meal in the chef’s native Mexico.
For Culture Magazine’s annual cheese issue, I had the pleasure of photographing this series of cheesy pastries, pies, and other decadent desserts featuring 2016’s award-winning cheeses.
Handcrafted, one-of-a-kind dinnerware is a hot trend in photography, especially food photography. I photographed these delicious bowls for SPACES in collaboration with Barbara Schmidt, founder of studiobstyle.
I shot this feature for Culture Magazine: 251 Creative, Crazy-delicious Pairings showcasing fresh ideas for cheese pairings. We captured gooey caramel, apricots, duck, watermelon, and more alongside their perfect cheese partners.
I shot these delicious featured recipes for Food & Wine magazine: Alex Guarnaschelli’s two-tomato soup with fennel and Jacques Pépin’s fruit soup.
Summer colors are characteristically bright and bold, a loud proclamation of the season’s playful energy. Yet there’s another side in the shifts of the day when a quieter and softer moment emerges. It’s these summer scenes my dear friend, prop stylist Ed Gallagher, and I captured at PropHaus featuring some of our favorite products from SirMadam, Hay, and Hawkins.
