Creative Direction: I collaborated with my local Harlem ice cream spot on a pandemic-safe photoshoot to capture their delicious creations. We set up a socially distanced photo booth in front of their store and had a day of fun with their most committed customers (in 30-degree weather!). Owners Petrushka and Nick supported the shoot on all fronts.

What We Eat On Set
Creative Direction: The difference between the carefully crafted food scenes we photograph and the food we, the team, really eat on set always strikes me as a bit ironic! Here we are laboring over the tiniest salt flake to create the perfect image; meanwhile, we are eating our own lunch with plastic forks perched on an apple box in the corner of the studio. I started to shoot some of these odd still lifes on set and recreated a few in the studio with the help of stylists Helen Quinn, Kaitlyn Du Ross Walker, and Julia Choi-Rodriguez.

Even if we can’t celebrate like we usually do this year, due to the pandemic, we can still treat ourselves and our closest family with some sparkle.
